A small trick you can use when you want to smash your racket
An easy mistake. A bad call. A lost game you should have won but didn’t.
And suddenly you want to throw your racket across the court or smash it so badly.
You know it won’t help. It shows your opponent you’re frustrated and gives them confidence.
But in that moment, you are boiling inside.
Here’s a small trick that players use:
Switch your racket to your other hand.
If you’re right-handed, put it in your left hand. Just for a few moments.
It feels weird. But you’re not used to smashing your racket with that hand, so you won’t do it.
Feeling frustrated is completely normal. It means you’re competitive and you care about what you’re doing.
But it matters what you do with it. Some players let it take over. Others find small ways to interrupt it before it does. The racket switch is one of those ways.
Try it in practice first, so it becomes a habit. Then when you need it in a match, it’s already there. 🙂
